I read this story about a wife who wanted to control her husband on facebook 

ان بہنوں اور بیٹیوں کیلئے تحفہ جنکے تعلقات آپنے شوهروں کیساتهه ٹهیک نہیں هے اور جو اپنے شوهر کو قابو کرنا چاهتے هیں

ایک عورت گاؤں کے عالم کو روایتی والا عامل سمجھتی تھی جو گنڈے اور تعویذ کا کام کرتا ہے۔ اس لیئے جاتے ہی اس نے فرمائش کر ڈالی کہ مجھے ایسا عمل کر دیجئے کہ میرا خاوند میرا مطیع بن کر رہے اور مجھے ایسی محبت دے جو دنیا میں کسی عورت نے نا پائی ہو۔ بندہ عامل ہوتا تو جھٹ سے تعویذ لکھتا اور اپنے پیسے کھرے کرتا، وہ جانتا تھا کہ خاتون اسے کچھ اور ہی سمجھ کر اپنی مراد پانے کیلئے آئی بیٹھی ہے۔ یہی سوچ کر عالم صاحب نے کہا، محترمہ، تیری خواہش بہت بڑی ہے لہٰذہ اس کے عمل کی قیمت بھی بڑی ہوگی، کیا تم یہ قیمت ادا کرنے کیلئے تیار ہو؟

عورت نے کہا میں بخوشی ہر قیمت دینے کیلئے تیار ہوں۔ عالم نے کہا ٹھیک ہے تم مجھے شیر کی گردن سے ایک بال خود اپنے ہاتھوں سے توڑ کر لا دو تاکہ میں اپنا عمل شروع کر سکوں۔ شیر کی گردن کا بال اور وہ بھی میں اپنے ہاتھ سے توڑ کر لا دوں؟ جناب آپ اس عمل کی قیمت روپوں میں مانگیئے تو میں ہر قیمت دینے کو تیار ہوں مگر یہ توآپ عمل نا کر کے دینے والی بات کر رہے ہیں! آپ جانتے ہی ہیں کہ شیر ایک خونخوار اور وحشی جانور ہے۔ اس سے پہلے کی میں اس کی گردن تک پہنچ کر اسکا بال حاصل کر پاؤں وہ مجھے پہلے ہی پھاڑ کھائے گا۔

عالم نے کہا، بی بی، میں بالکل ٹھیک کہہ رہا ہوں۔ اس عمل کے لئے شیر کی گردن کا بال ہی لانا ہوگا اور وہ بھی تم اپنے ہاتھ سے توڑ کر لاؤ گی۔ اس عمل کو بس اسی طرح ہی کیا جا سکتا ہے۔

عورت ویسے تو مایوس ہو کر ہی وہاں سے چلی مگر پھر بھی اس نے اپنی چند ایک راز دان سہیلیوں اور مخلص احباب سے مشورہ کیا تواکثر کی زبان سے یہی سننے کو ملا کہ کام اتنا ناممکن تو نہیں ہے کیونکہ شیر تو بس اسی وقت ہی خونخوار ہوتا ہے جب بھوکا ہو۔ شیر کو کھلا پلا کر رکھو تو اس کے شر سے بچا جا سکتا ہے۔ اس عورت نے یہ نصیحتیں اپنے پلے باندھیں اور جنگل میں جا کر آخری حد تک جانے کی ٹھان لی۔

عورت شیر کیلئے گوشت پھینک کر دور چلی جاتی اور شیر آ کر یہ گوشت کھا لیتا۔ وقت کے ساتھ ساتھ شیر اور اس عورت میں الفت بڑھتی چلی گئی اور فاصلے آہستہ آہستہ کم ہونا شروع ہو گئے۔ اور آخر وہ دن آن ہی پہنچا جب شیر کو اس عورت کی محبت میں کوئی شک و شبہ نا رہا تھا۔ عورت نے گوشت ڈال کر اپنا ہاتھ شیر کے سر پر پھیرا تو شیر نے طمانیت کے ساتھ اپنی آنکھیں موند لیں۔ یہی وہ لمحہ تھا عورت نے آہستگی سے شیر کی گردن سے ایک بال توڑا اور وہاں سے بھاگتے ہوئے سیدھا عالم کے پاس پہنچی۔ بال اس کے ہاتھ پر رکھتے ہی پورے جوش و خروش کے ساتھ بولی، یہ لیجیئے شیر کی گردن کا بال۔ میں نے خود اپنے ہاتھ سے توڑا ہے۔ اب عمل کرنے میں دیر نا لگائیے۔ تاکہ میں اپنے خاوند کا دل ہمیشہ کیلئے جیت کر اس سے ایسی محبت پا سکوں جو دنیا کی کسی عورت کو نا ملی ہو۔

عالم نے عورت سے پوچھا، یہ بال حاصل کرنے کیلئے تم نے کیا کیا؟

عورت نے جوش و خروش کے ساتھ پوری داستان سنانا شروع کی کہ وہ کس طرح شیر کے قریب پہنچی، اس نے جان لیا تھا کہ بال حاصل کرنے کیلئے شیر کی رضا حاصل کرنا پڑے گی۔ اور یہ رضا حاصل کرنے کیلئے شیر کا دل جیتنا پڑے گا جب کہ شیر کے دل کا راستہ اس کے معدے سے ہو کر جاتا ہے۔ پس شیر کا دل جیتنے کیلئے اس نے شیر کے معدے کو باقاعدگی سے بھرنا شروع کیا۔ اس کام کے لئے ایک بہت صبر آزما انتظار کی ضرورت تھی اور آخر وہ دن آ پہنچا جب وہ شیر کا دل جیت چکی تھی اور اپنا مقصد پانا اس کیلئے بہت آسان ہو چکا تھا۔

عالم نے عورت سے کہا، اے اللہ کی بندی؛ میں نہیں سمجھتا کہ تیرا خاوند اس شیر سے زیادہ وحشی ، اجڈ اور خطرناک ہے۔ تو اپنے خاوند کے ساتھ ایسا ہی سلوک کیوں نہیں کرتی جیسا سلوک تو نے اس شیر کے ساتھ کیا۔ جان لے کہ مرد کے دل کا راستہ بھی اس کے معدے سے ہی ہو کر گزرتا ہے۔ خاوند کے پیٹ کو بھر کر رکھ، مگر صبر کے ساتھ، ویسا صبر جیسا شیر جیسے جانور کو دوست بننے کے مرحلے تک میں کیا تھا۔

Learning the Survival Skills in Karachi : Jaywalking

These days I am in my home town i.e. Karachi for a unknown period. So I have to learn few survival skills which I forget during my stay away from Pakistan.

These skills includes

1. Buying a cheap phone and hide my smartphone
2. Avoid taking pictures of anything :P 
3. Synchronizing my timetable according to the availability of electricity.
4. Don't showoff in public and limit your views about peer sahib and his self righteous party to yourself.
5. Digest drinking water (those who live abroad for an extended period surely agree how bad it could get if water is not boiled ;) )
6. And most important one Jaywalking

Where I lived for past four years jaywalking is considered as offense and I heard alot of stories about police fining the jaywalkers (although never witness such event). Jaywalking Kills is the slogan they engraved everywhere.

But hey I am in Karachi now. I might not think to cross the road foolishly while traffic is still running. Then yesterday when I went to buy some grocery from the other side of the road. I was standing on a foot path of the busy road with a few other pedestrian including a girl.

I waited for the road to be cleared but there was no signal, so my fellow pedestrian decided to cross the road. And wohla they crossed the road dodging some cars and few bikes. When I turned towards the lady and to my shock she was disappeared and by turning in right direction I tracked her crossed the road even faster than the men. 

This was the nirvana movement which opens my eyes that I am no more in a contained society but in a free world where I can Jaywalk as much as I can

So the latest news is that I am De-Programming myself and learning the basics. Pray for me

Pakistan : Riots Riots Everywhere - Punjab Situation

Currently, Pakistan is suddenly under the wave of riot fever. There are riots in Punjab for electricity , in Karachi riots are result of previous riots. In Balochistan they have their own complex  reasons to create chaos and disorder. Same goes with Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa.

We can discuss all riots but not in 1 blog post. So I decides to take up the issue of Punjab. It is not because I worried about Punjab more but by far and large it was the only province of Pakistan which was not destabilized like other. Secondly this province is ruled by the biggest opposition party, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz. PMLN is claimed to be the biggest critic of PPPP government and championed themselves as the role models of good governance.

The riots and disorder that erupted in Lahore and other cities is not totally meaning less. Especially for the past for years Punjab is crippling due to the shortage of electricity and gas loadshadding.  The federal government blamed this to the eminent shortage of the commodities and ever increasing circular debt they inherited from previous government of PMLQ. But there is a sentiment in Punjab especially in ruling party which thinks that it is due to political victimization.

Due to this buck passing and lack of interest in solving the problem the daily business of people suffered alot. Textile business is one of the most badly affected sector. Only in Faisalabad, the hub of textile in Pakistan thousands of workers are either lost their jobs or not able to work whole week. The constant increase in the tariff of gas and electricity and diminishing supplies of these two commodities is taking its toll by breaking the nerves of common people. 

So the common man comes on street and start what you can do best in frustration. Shouting, fighting and burning starts everywhere. Sanity engulfed by the mob mentality within no time. (You can watch the visuals of this melodrama with Talat Hussain's analysis on Punjab Riots Here).

 and walk on foot upto Islamabad.CM Shahbaz Sharif 

Political parties such as PMLN are trying to exploit the situation in their favor and considering it an attempt to wash out the image of friendly opposition. CM Punjab, Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif again shows his intentions by showing his wish to drag President Zardari  on roads and taking first bullet on chest for it.

One can interpret this situation both ways i.e. Pro PMLN as always show it as a proof of anti-PPP stance. While Anti PMLN people would think that this is again a strategy to curtail anger of people by pointing them out towards some irrelevant direction and eventually cool down the . PMLN shows this hijacking strategy in Justice Movement and in riots on loadshadding in Oct 2011. They started Go Zardari Go campaign and gradually puts it to a stand still.


The game PMLN trying to play again is dangerous as people are probably more frustrated than ever and at anytime things can be out of control and drive towards complete chaos.

The role of the police in all this episode is very weak and shameful. They nowhere try to maintain law and order, only watched the whole scene from a distance as spectator. In few places they even retreats after mob started to throw stones on them.

There could be 2 reasons of this behavior of police. Number one the chief executive and all government of Punjab was leading the protest. Number two police is not properly equipped and trained to stop a mob.

I fear if people learned that the police is not able to protect themselves an anarchic situation with the cases like Sialkot would be everywhere.
